Jill's Birthday Quilt

For the last couple of weeks, Chelsey and I have been working on a special birthday present for Jill's 50th Birthday. I finished all the sewing on it on Wednesday morning. Her birthday was on Wednesday. Well it is a rag quilt so when you are done sewing it, you have to cut all the edges, and try not to cut any of the seams. So I started to make the cuts and I worked until my hands were sore, then I repaired the seams that I had cut through, and I took it down to Chelsey's house, and she finished the cuts and then she brought it back to my house and I repaired the seams that she had cut. Well then you have to wash it and dry it to fray all of the edges, so I threw it in the washer. Well Tracy had a great big party planned and we had to be down to his house at 2:30 for family pictures and to meet the limo. Well the quilt was not done in the washer yet so I had to have my mom put it in the dryer for us. When the limo dropped me off at our house later (so I could wrap the present), it had gotten twisted around in the dryer and was still damp and wrinkly. So I wrapped it anyway and we gave it too her wet. But everything turned out ok. It wasn't perfect, but what is these days? I was pretty proud of the way it turned out, and it wasn't that hard to make. Chelsey did the embroidery work in the middle. I did the sewing (because I had the machine), but all that really matters is that Jill loved it, and has proudly displayed it in her living room. Happy Birthday!
P.S. My camera battery just died and so I will post the pictures of the quilt later after it gets all charged up again.
