The Greatest American Hero

I bet when the makers of GI Joe were making GI Joe, they pictured him being strong and tough and the ultimate soldier hero. I don't think that they pictured him snuggled in a baby blanket with a doll, and yet here he is, and he is definately getting snuggled.

I found her reading books to Baby Will and GI Joe.

Who in the hell voted for Chris Buttars anyway. I mean seriously folks, do you honestly believe that he is the best man for the job. Was the guy running against him like a Nazi or something? Did you really think that he has the same values and opinions as you? Can you not see that he is positively out of control crazy and should probably be in the mental institution? Not to mention that because all they are doing up on "the hill" the last couple of days is just trying to figure out how to deal with him and his crazy ideas, they are wasting billions of taxpayer dollars. Next time you guys go to vote please do us all a humongous favor and get rid of Chris Buttars.

So I've been on Ebay...

With my birthday coming up and all, I left a list of Nintendo DS games that I wanted. Shane took the kids and went shopping and came home and informed me that all the games on my list were sold out and I wasn't getting any of them for my birthday. So a couple of days ago I broke my "Never get on ebay again" rule and I started bidding on items.

Speaking of great deals....I went to work last night. I walked in and told the guy at the register (later I found out that he was Dave the footwear manager) that I was there for "Orientation." He told me that the store manager was running late and that I should look around the store. "Oh by the way," he said, "you get a free pair of shoes tonight up to $79.99, so go ahead and look around and try some on, and pick them out." Awesome. Last night when I left work, I also had (with my new shoes) two uniform shirts, and a zipper hoody jacket.

The Good News and the Bad News

The good news is that I got me a new job! I'm going to be working at the Nike Outlet. I'm totally excited about it too. I think that it will be a lot of fun.
The bad news is that I have to go get my ulcer scoped. An upper endoscopy is what it is really called. They do it at the hospital and they will thankfully put me out for it. I actually kind of got in trouble because I have waited for so long to get it done. Hopefully I can get this thing figured out soon, but I was warned that it could take a while to get in to see the GI doctor.

Movies

We signed up for our two week free trial of Netflix this weekend. Our first movie came. It was Definately, Maybe. I really liked it. I stayed up until 11:00 last night watching it. I always wait until the kids are in bed to start a movie, because these days you never know what you are going to get. This one I felt like I could have started it earlier. Anyway, I have been having a ton of fun experimenting with the Netflix website. I read about all the movies and then if they sound good, I put them on my list, what the heck. A lot of them I have never heard of, but it has been so long since Shane and I went to the movies, and so long since we have even rented one that I just figure that it must be time to catch up. Another great feature is that some of the movies you can watch online. So I can turn one on while I make dinner and the kids can watch it right here in the kitchen so they still feel close enough that they stay happy. And since our internet connection is not fast enough to keep up with the movie about every ten minutes or so they get a little break to run off and go play and then I just call them back when it turns on again. So they don't get bored with the same activity. I think that I'll be really sad if Shane decides to cancel our subscription after our two free weeks, I've really become attached and I've only had one movie.
Yesterday I interviewed for a job. Today I interviewed for another job. I think that I might get hired for the job that I went to today. It is always exciting to start something new. I guess that I'll have to really wait and see what happens though since I have still only interviewed so far.
I'm taking my kids to the dentist this afternoon. I hope that we have some good luck and no cavities.
